Subaru World Rally Team News!!!

If you all haven't seen yet, I just got Chris' newsletter! He is now confirmed for 2007! GREAT news for Chris! Now just hope SWRT gets a car going right so Petter and Chris can be on the podium as much as possible next year!!!!

As for Stephane, I'm so sorry I just read on crash.net that Subaru will only run two cars next year and they are not going to have him on the team. I'm so sorry for Stephane and I'm also sad that this probably means I have no chance to see him again in the near future. I missed him at the Gunma Sports meet during summer, that might have been my last real chance!! I must be thankful that I got to meet him in Japan last year!!! That is my best memory of Stephane!!! I hope Stephane will find a team to work with next year if he wants to continue to do rally!!!

Hi Everyone!!

I hope that things are going well for all of you!!!!
My back is getting better day by day. It isn't the quickest of recoveries but recovery however slow is good!!!!!

I never posted after the last Sumo tournament was over!! Yes, of course Asashoryu won the tournament but at least he didn't do it with a zero loss record, I feel that there is something in that.

The small guy "Ama" ended with a record of 11-4 which is still fantastic since he had to fight a lot of the really higher ranking guys near the end. He also won the Kanto-sho (Fighting Spirit Prize!) Congratulations Ama!!!! Way to go!

Hakuho had a terrible record and will not be considered again for promotion to Yokozuna (the highest rank) for at least two more tournaments. He'll have to show that he can seriously challenge the current Yokozuna and win the next two tournaments or get very close. Then he can be considered again.

Kotooshu finished up the tournament with a respectible 10-5 record. He still needs to do better. He is upbeat though after his last tournament wasn't so good. Now he feels he is on the right track again.

My next chance to see some Sumo will be next weekend! We'll have the Kasugano beya doing a weeklong training camp here in my city of Iruma. I'll have the chance to spend the day with them watching practice and then eating chanko lunch with them later. I'm really excited.

I also want to draw everyone's attention to something I read on the swrt.com site tonight!!

In aid of the Oxford Children's Hospital, the Subaru World Rally Team will be offering for auction a number of items on eBay.

First up is a pair of signed Petter Solberg driving boots.

To check out the listing and make a bid, please click here:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180034637781&ssPageName=ADME:L:LCA:UK:31

The team is planning to sell signed photographs, drivers suits and other unique items in the coming months, so please tell everybody you know that would be interested in owning a piece of official memorabilia and help us to raise money for this fantastic charity.

Check the swrt.com site, just click the link to the right to check for more news on new items coming up. The driver boots are nice but... I'm sure they are going to go for quite a lot of money!! I can't wait to see what else they list!!! I hope they raise a lot of money for the hospital!

Oh and one other thing, the picture of Petter is really cute!!!!

Time to head to sleep, give my back a rest!!!

I'll try to get those pictures off my laptop and into an online album as soon as possible!!!!

Love,
Viki
